Comprehensive & Compassionate Treatment for Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions that involve disruptions in eating behaviors and a preoccupation with weight, shape, and body image. The three main types of eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder.

Anorexia nervosa is characterized by a severe restriction of food intake and a distorted body image, leading to significant weight loss and physical complications. Bulimia nervosa involves episodes of binge eating followed by purging behaviors such as vomiting, fasting, or excessive exercise. Binge eating disorder is characterized by recurrent episodes of excessive eating without purging behaviors, leading to distress and a sense of loss of control.

Eating disorders can have serious physical and psychological consequences, including malnutrition, gastrointestinal problems, cardiac complications, depression, and anxiety. It is essential to seek professional help if you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms of an eating disorder. Treatment for eating disorders in the UAE can help you on the journey to discover yourself and live a healthy life.

Your Path to Recovery

If you believe you may have Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, or any other eating disorder we suggest you schedule a consultation with our dietician, a psychiatrist, or a psychologist. If you are under 18 years of age or are a parent to a child who you believe has one of these conditions you should schedule the consultation with our child psychiatrist or the dietician.

In all cases, it does not mean you will have to commit to treatment, either through medication or another form of therapy. The clinician will listen to your problems, make a diagnosis, and suggest the most suitable treatment options for you to choose. Our eating disorder treatment does not mean that you will have to starve yourself or strictly follow a diet plan. Instead, we study you and your disorder individually to create a customized treatment that can help you without putting any burden on you.

If you are scheduling for a relative please ensure that they are aware of the appointment. We recognize that this is not always possible. You can schedule a meeting to seek advice regarding the care of a relative but the booking should be made in your name. For further advice contact our coordinator at info@thevalensclinic.ae or call 800-Valens.
