Dr. Danilo Arnone

Dr Danilo is a Professor of Psychiatry at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) in Dubai, where he has been based since moving to the UAE in 2025. He combines his academic work with a strong commitment to clinical psychiatry, research and the development of evidence-based approaches to mental health.

Before joining MBRU, Dr Danilo held academic and clinical positions at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at United Arab Emirates University, as well as at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Centre for Affective Disorders at King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.

He trained in psychiatry in England at St George’s University of London and the Maudsley Hospital, and completed his PhD at the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK.

Dr Danilo has a longstanding interest in understanding what drives mental health conditions and how this knowledge can translate into better care for patients. His areas of expertise include mood disorders, neuroimaging and psychopharmacology. He remains actively involved in research, teaching and professional education and serves on editorial boards within the field of psychiatry.
