Dr Leena Amiri

Dr. Leena Amiri is a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist with a clinical and academic career grounded in the UAE. She is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the UAE University College of Medicine & Health Sciences, where she teaches medical students.

Her work bridges clinical practice with public mental-health education, with a particular focus on supporting children, adolescents, and families through anxiety, mood difficulties, and the emotional impact of life transitions. She believes in care that respects each family’s cultural and religious context, and that gives young people and their parents practical tools they can use beyond the consultation room.

(including Exposure and Response Prevention), and behavioral activation for low mood.

She follows NICE and AACAP guidelines while tailoring care to the cultural and family context of each patient.

Her practice is collaborative and family-inclusive, equipping young people and their parents

with skills they can use between sessions and treating cultural and religious values as resources for resilience

rather than barriers to work around.
