Dr. Bassam Dheyaa
Dr Bassam Dheyaa is an experienced and passionate psychiatrist with strong roots in the UAE. He has been practicing psychiatry for several years and joined the Valens Clinic in 2024, quickly building a strong reputation for care and expertise.
His expertise spans across all common psychiatric conditions, with people from varied cultural and ethnical backgrounds.
He has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). He is adept at addressing psychiatric emergencies and severe mental disorders specifically in the context of the Emirate of Dubai.
Dr Dheyaa combines accurate diagnostic skills with in-depth exploration of every patient’s individuality to deliver a comprehensive treatment plan using traditional and holistic approaches. His solid medical foundation was established at the University of Baghdad, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree in 2007.
He completed his psychiatric specialty training in Dubai and is accredited by the Arab Board of Health Specializations. Dr. Dheyaa was appointed a core faculty member in the Dubai Health psychiatry training program. He shared his passion with younger generations of psychiatrists, and earned recognition for his dedication. Dr. Dheyaa had collaborated in promoting mental health with key organizations such as the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
He raises awareness of mental health issues through various platforms, including social media, TV and radio. In 2025 Dr Dheyaa was appointed director of the newly established center of excellence for Esketamine treatment at the Valens Clinic, leading a multidisciplinary team with the aim of providing the best possible therapeutic experience to our patients.
